toshiba announces ICS tablets

toshiba excite tablet
Toshiba has recently released three new tablets that we hope have better batteries than the Thrive. The new series is called the Excite and it’s available in three sizes: 7.7, 10, and 13. We saw the tablet earlier this year at the CES as the Excite x10 which was tagged as the thinnest Android tablet.
The Excite tablets look gorgeous and slim in aluminum finish that remind us all of the MacBook Air. All three Ice Cream Sandwich tablets run a NVIDIA Tegra 3 SoC processor.
Here’s a rundown of the the Excite tablets:
Excite 7.7. AMOLED Gorilla Glass display, 1280 x 800 pixel resolution. $500 (16GB), $580 (32GB).
Excite 10. AMOLED Gorilla Glass display, 1280 x 800 pixel resolution, SD card slot
Excite 13. AMOLED Gorilla Glass display, 1600 x 900 pixel resolution, SD card slot
The Excite 13 seems to big for a tablet but Toshiba hopes the size is perfect for indoor use such as in the kitchen. I get the idea but what would make me buy this over the iPad and especially if it’s expensive at $650?
The 32GB model is $650 while the Excited 13 G4GB is $750. Both the Excite 7.7 and Excite 13 will arrive in June 10 while the Excite 10 earlier on May 6.
