Dolby Unveils 42 inch PRM-4200 Professional Reference Monitor For $40,000

Dolby has this week unveiled a new addition to its range of monitors, in the form of the 42 inch $40,000 display named the Dolby PRM-4200 professional reference monitor. The Dolby PRM-4200 monitor has been created to render the most accurate highlights and dark areas, showing a full dynamic range most digital cameras can capture. The new Dolby monitor is also restricted to full 1080p high definition display, with a 1920 x 1080 resolution, a 120 Hz refresh rate and weighs in at a hefty 150 pounds. The feature which makes the Dolby PRM-4200 monitor stand apart from the rest in its class is its adjustable backlighting. The Dolby PRM-4200 monitor is equipped with 1,500 RGB LED triplets allows you to individually control each one of those red, green, and blue lights to colour-correct every single frame of an image. Allowing users to photoshop moving images on a single monitor. “The Dolby Professional Reference Monitor enables the creative process for colorists and cinematographers by ensuring that the final image will reflect exactly what they see on the monitor.”
