Nokia releases Lumia 800 firmware update to fix volume bug

Nokia has reportedly rolled out another software update for its Lumia 800 in a bid to address the problems related to the volume control of the phone.

According to reports, Lumia 800 users are likely to receive the latest update, dubbed as version 12072, starting from next week. Nokia had recently rolled out software update for the Lumia 800 device in a bid to fix the battery woes.

“This software version for the Lumia 800 (1600.2487.8107.12070) brings significant improvements in battery performance and power management. Originally scheduled for 18 April, we’ve now managed to bring the schedule forward,” Nokia then said.

It's learnt that the last update, meant to improve the battery life of the Windows Phone-based smartphone, inadvertently led a problem where the ring-tone volume goes very loud when it first rings.

The latest update on the lines of previous updates bring in new and improved features related to power management along with a better charger detection. According to Mobiletechworld, the new firmware comes with an updated Camera app with auto detection of 50/60Hz and updated camera settings.

This update hasn't appeared on Nokia's official blog yet. Interestingly, Nokia had earlier released an update that supposedly tippled battery life of the device.
