Swype’s new living keyboard now available for Android phone

Swype is going to get a whole lot better. The wildly popular text input interface is getting updated with technology borrowed from its parent company Nuance Communications. For those of you who don’t know what Nuance does, the company is a leader in voice recognition software and voice input.
The new update will make the keyboard much more smarter, even going beyond just words, adding the ability to form sentences and phrases. For instance, if you type “Grandma Donna,” the keyboard will adapt and start to fill in the last name every time the word Grandma is entered. This feature will be implemented in the new version of Swype, and it will be coined as a “living keyboard”.
Other noteworthy features include support for 55 languages that can be used by being written or spoken, a third input method (fourth if you count simple key tapping): writing out words by finger, which it then turns into text. Nuance is selling the new Swype release to Android devices (phones and tablets) as well as making the technology available to other OS’s by way of a software developer’s kit.
